I'm Just Going to Pretend I Didn't Notice That
What it does
Deliberate non-engagement with something wrong enough to punish curiosity.
Use it when
- A strange detail is safer left unexplored.
- Acknowledging a problem would assign it to you.
- Someone says something that deserves no follow-up.
For example
- The hotel room has a locked door labeled Linen but no hallway behind it.
- You see the typo after the invitations have shipped.
- A coworker whispers ‘the office possum’ as though you already know.
